ALREADY WORKING ON XMAS !!!

Lots of layers that are
difficult to see.
The glitter and shiny
stuff is really hard
to photograph.
So you are missing out on
some of the best stuff
on this piece
of mixed media art
on board.
Maybe if you click on the
image to enlarge
you'll see it all.

This measures 12 x 24 on birch.

For my grand daughter
Iris.

Hello??? Is Anyone Out There????

Are you an artist like me?

Do you sometimes wonder if you walk the
planet all alone?

What are your insecurities?

Are you afraid of becoming one of those ladies
doing craft shows on Saturday morning PBS?

What about when someone says of your art
"CUTE" ~ are you flattered or does your inner critic
scream "OMG !!!! SEE I TOLD YOU !!!!"

I am interested in your creative process, what
gets you going, what shuts you down.

Have you always created in the same style and theme?
Or have have you moved around and how have either
of those modes affected your artistic and creative life?

Please..........................*small voice, quivering* tell me what's
on your mind.

MORE GOOD GIRL GONE BAD

I continue to like Girl Girl Gone Bad
more and more all the time
I've added some stuff and some
layers and now I think she is more
interesting.

What do you think?

BACK TO BIRDS

Take Flowers Home To The Little Lady

Mixed Media on Board - 6 x 12

Don't know why,
I've got this thing
for birds.

The flowers are
something I've wanted
to try out.

Not much to say
about this except it
brought hours of
enjoyment for me.

I hope you enjoy it
too, and please leave
a comment. It is always
so nice to get your take
on my art.

Not sure if it is
finished yet.

WORK IN PROGRESS

A MOMENT OF FUN

Meet Audrey,
The pole dancing
slut cat.

I swear
she has no shame.

The human heart has hidden treasures,

in secret kept,

in silence sealed,

the thoughts,

the hopes,

the dreams,

the pleasures,

whose charms are broken

if revealed."

ANDREA ~ HOLLYWOOD HILDA IS YOURS !!!

CONGRATULATIONS
ANDREA IN PARIS !

I LOVED YOUR IDEA FOR THE SIGN....

(email your address and I'll send this to you)

MORE HOLLYWOOD HILDA

What do you think should go
on the sign she stands next to???

Tell you what, be the person to
come up with the best phrase
for the sign and I'll award the
completed "Hollywood Hilda"
as a prize.

Right now she measures 6 x 12 inches,
so with a mat and frame,
that makes a pretty nice prize.

Keep in mind, there isn't
much room on that sign....
short and sweet.

Hollywood Hilda ~ Work In Progress

I'm having fun with this one.

ART FULL TIME

I am spending more and more time making art.

Sometimes it can be difficult because I still have a day job.

I come home around 5pm and enjoy the garden for about 30
minutes. Then dinner is ready. After that I have a couple of
hours for studio time. If I don't get into bed by 8:30 I'll be
in a comma the whole next day.....head bobbing at my desk.

Generally when I have lunch (still at my desk) I surf blogs
and other art related sites.

But the remainder of my day here at the "Job" is spent really
thinking to myself about ART.

This balancing act of art and the day job is difficult.

Today I came across Jesse Reno, this guy is refreshing, and
I so want to be in that space of making art......I loved his video.

Treat yourself and visit Jesse Reno, see the video. Be inspired.

SANTA FE - INDIAN MARKET WEEKEND

Santa Ana Retablo

Santa Ana ~ Retablo on wood
purchased at Spanish Market
Santa Fe New Mexico ~ 2008

This is the most beautiful piece of art I have ever
acquired. The first in what I hope is many. The
colors are so soft, up close it is velvety.

She is the patron saint of mother and children
and families.

May you, your children and your family
find joy and happiness today.

THE BIG "IF" ~ LET'S GET REAL JUST FOR TODAY

On The High Road
Paula ~ 2007

If you could be anyone - just for today,
who would you be?

If you could go anywhere - just for today,
where would you go?

If you could say what was truly on your heart -
just for today,
what would you say?

If you could eat what you love - just for today,
what would you eat?

If you could change anything in the world - just for today,
what would you change?

So.................
???????????

Find a place where you feel happy......

PAINTED BUILDINGS

Abuelita's Restaurant, Bernalillo New Mexico
Paula ~ 2008

Isn't this a charming touch?
There are, or I should say WERE
panel insets along the side of the building
with these wonderful paintings on them.

The restaurant did a remodel and these are
now gone.

What a pity.

It is Friday.
Here's hoping you have a restful and
happy weekend.

Catch you on Monday !!
