THE NEW ADVENTURE

This chest of drawers was my husband's brain child. He has recently started building furniture and on his suggestion I have started painting images on each piece.

The image on this piece is meant to resemble Our Lady of Guadalupe, a popular image here in the American Southwest.

He has since made many pieces that I have painted. I'll post them from time to time and I would REALLY like your honest critique.

Well I think it is fabulous. Very unique and I love the colors too. They have an interesting chapel inside of Notre Dame in Paris devoted to Our Lady of Guadalupe. I am amazed by the attention it receives. There are always fresh flowers, someone praying and tons of candles lit which sell at 5 Euros a piece. It is a real cult.

Our lady of Guadalupe was the patron saint of the monastery that I use to belong to. It was in New Mexico.
I reconized her straight away.
Are those the chankra points on the side?

Wow what a great way to combine functionality and art! And also how great to be able to work together in this way.

this is just amazing - would so be the focal point of any room. The only thing I am not sure about is how the line of the top cabinets go through her face. I see it is perfectly symmetrical but I some how would have preferred more of her head to be on one side. I am sure that is totally crazy and I really do think the piece is gorgeous.
