I love birds. Don't really know why for sure.
When I first painted this, it felt a bit too
folky. But then I started thinking about
the story this bird held under her wing,
close to her heart.
I think if you click on the image you'll get
an expanded view and then you
will be able to read "her story".
I hope you enjoy this as much as I did.

Very cute. I hope her dreams come true.
No regrets, yes, and run! :-)
I like the underlying, barely visible text, as if suggesting the past experiences we are all made out of, which may not be evident on the surface, like a riddle to be solved before you know the true person (or chick *g*).
It's *so* charming! The text is a great addition.
I do like this bird...of course I really enjoy folk art so like this connection.
thank you for your email! Great to 'meet' you!
Oh, what a great story! I'm sure there's a little bit of this birdy in all of us, wanting to break free. :)
Did so much enjoy this lovely artwork - I like the tiny fence that is struggling to contain all within it :) The big bird is adorable! So innocent and so wise at the same time.
Love this bird, folksy or not, it's great!
I found your blog thru Andrea's and had to come by since we have the same name...then I realized you also live in the same state! How cool is that? Which part of the state do you live in? I live in Albuquerque. Come by my blog if you get the chance. :)
I love folk art and this is perfect - especially the text within the bird ever so faintly..
Blessings,
Karen
