So here are the birdhouses made
from gourds. I don't know how
well they'll hold up in the weather,
but they are cheerful and I like them.
A friend asked me if I thought birds
would really use them. Heck, I don't know,
I just like the way they look !!!
Now just need to get them positioned
in the yard.
I think if you click on the image
you can see it enlarged.

Those are great. Birds are picky, but you just never know :-).
Oh Paula, these are so cool. I can see why you like them so much...they are so cheerful.
Are they difficult to do? Do you grow the gourds? They look very sturdy.
Well, I am just too full of questions....but they bring in a lot of fun color, don't they?
I really like those too. I wouldn't care if the birds liked them because they would look so great in a garden but I bet they will.
Birds or no birds, these are wonderful. A friend mad me a birdhouse that hung empty for five years... finally a bird couple moved in and raised some babies.
I think it depends on the size of the hole and the size of the bird. Small entrance holes for small birds so that predators can't get in.
oops, my friend wasn't MAD she MADE me a birdhouse.
Hi! I found you by way of Kim at Creating Space. I love your birdhouses! I'm trying to grow some gourds this summer for this very project. Did you grow your own or buy them unfinished?
If I get any to grow this year I will post my results in a later (winter) post. I may just give up on growing them and buy some online.
Anyway, yours are cute.
